Are You Too Busy In The Run Up To Christmas?

If you're like me you still have a long list of things to do. Here are some tips to help you get everything done without sacrificing peace of mind. I hope they will help you to be productive, stop procrastinating and get the things done that really need to get done. <

b>Prioritise

When things get busy, you need to be more focused about where you spend your time and energy. I highly recommend that you decide either not to do, or to postpone activities that don't fall into the top 25% of your prioritised to do list.

Simplify and delegate

For example, it's not too late to order gifts online. You'll save your self a lot of time. Perhaps you could get your children and spouse to help with cleaning, running errands and present wrapping.

Take good care of yourself

Make sure you schedule in some time for you. If you nurture yourself and make sure you go to bed on time, you'll have a much better chance of holding on to the good habits that you've established.

Try to be flexible and remember to be your own best friend

Are your expectations reasonable given your circumstances? Don’t take on too much and set yourself up to fail, that will only drain your energy and leave you de-motivated

Plan ahead

Set aside time over the next week or so to plan how you'll deal with temptations and distractions during the holidays. I encourage you to schedule time to pursue things that are important to you as well as things that need to be done.

Remember to have fun

Give yourself permission to say no to some things. You don’t have to do everything that you're asked to do. Don't let yourself get so busy that you forget to enjoy yourself. Give yourself and others the best gift of all – time.

Here's some food for thought

The Leadership Movie

" Loving God, Help us remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and worship of the wise men.

Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world.

Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting.

Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.

May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children, and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, orgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake. Amen.
