The 5 Minute Life Coach - Where is God when it really matters?
September 22, 2008
Dear,

Life has been challenging. I've been busy pulling togther the threads of what I believe the Lord is callling me to do, whilst also handling my husband's unemployment and working around my children being at home for the summer!

The children are now back at school, my husband starts work next week, and our eldest daughter starts her first job in a few weeks time. God is good.

In October we have friends coming to live with us for a while. David and Shannon Snowdon have been serving the Lord in Bangladesh for the last 6 years and are returning to see what the Lord has for them next. It will be great to have them with us as part of our family again.

What's New?

I'd like to invite you to the first ever Christian life coaching teleseminar on Tuesday 30th September. I have a guest speaker, Marilyn Parmelee, author of Hearing God's Voice For Yourself.

The good news is that you don't need to leave home to take part. You can join us from the comfort of your home, and if the day and time don't fit your schedule, you can still join in! We will be recording the teleseminar so that you can benefit whatever your plans.

I can hardly wait to meet you and share keys to hearing God more clearly.

You'll find all the details here

Kickstart Your Life

I'm encouraged by the comments I get from people who are using A Renewed You as a tool to help them transform their life. Seriously consider investing in A Renewed You. It's never too late to start transforming your life.

It's a very affordable 16 week program and it will help you to kickstart your life.

Where is God when it really matters?

Is life a challenge right now? Are you wondering Where God is? Or even beginning to wonder if God has rejected you?

When you pray and nothing seems to happen it doesn't mean that God doesn't love you or that He is rejecting you. God's love is everlasting, He loves you with a passion. And God is faithful even when you are not.

Take a look at Psalm 77 The Message
Copyright Eugene H. Peterson

I yell out to my God, I yell with all my might, I yell at the top of my lungs. He listens.

I found myself in trouble and went looking for my Lord;
my life was an open wound that wouldn't heal.
When friends said, "Everything will turn out all right,"
I didn't believe a word they said.
I remember God—and shake my head.
I bow my head—then wring my hands.
I'm awake all night—not a wink of sleep;
I can't even say what's bothering me.
I go over the days one by one,
I ponder the years gone by.
I strum my lute all through the night,
wondering how to get my life together.

Will the Lord walk off and leave us for good?
Will he never smile again?
Is his love worn threadbare?
Has his salvation promise burned out?
Has God forgotten his manners?
Has he angrily stalked off and left us?
"Just my luck," I said. "The High God goes out of business
just the moment I need him."

Once again I'll go over what God has done,
lay out on the table the ancient wonders;
I'll ponder all the things you've accomplished,
and give a long, loving look at your acts.

O God! Your way is holy!
No god is great like God!
You're the God who makes things happen;
you showed everyone what you can do—
You pulled your people out of the worst kind of trouble...

Now, remember all the times when God has answered your prayers. Remember the amazing things He has done and give thanks for each one.

When you respond to difficulty with praise and thanksgiving for what God has done in the past, it will help to remind you of who God is and what He has done and that will cause your hope to rise.

When things look impossible, remember the times when the Lord has brought you through. When you're facing difficult circumstances, remember how God has helped you before.

You will find that when you remind yourself of His many blessings it will give you courage to face the future with hope, knowing that all things work together for good to those who love God.

Take time to remind yourself that God is a faithful God and His promises are true. God never sleeps or slumbers, He is always with you. Trust Him.

Silence Your Fears

Coaching Points

  • List all previous answers to your prayers, big and small.
  • Thanks the Lord for each of them and dare to believe that What He did then, He will do you again.

  • Start a gratitude journal, and read through it when you need encouragement.

  • Visit the website, print off the confessions to build your faith and speak them out each day.

  • Turn your eyes from the circumstances, fix them firmly on Jesus and what He has done and agree with what God says about everything.

If you follow these steps you will begin to see a difference. Your outlook will change and you will find that you respond differently.

Everything will begin to look different when you start to look through eyes of faith, without faith it is impossible to please God.
