The 5 Minute Life Coach - Letting Go
March 25, 2008
A Letter From Lynne
If you've been wondering why you haven't heard much from me lately, it's because life became a bit of a struggle. I was trying to do too many things at once.
I have many calls on my life and I was busy trying to spin too many plates. I discovered that I can't, it was wearing me out. I finally gave in, let go of some things and asked God what He wanted me to do.
I've been asking Jesus how He wants me to live and what He wants me to do and that has led to surrender, letting go.
Not trying harder, not making more effort, but rather, confessing that I'd run out of my own strength and that I needed His. So, I finished trying to do everything and taking too many things on. I completed things that absolutely had to be done and pushed everything else off my plate.
I've been having a rest. Iíve returned to waiting for God to show me what He wants me to take on and not doing everything that everyone expects me to do. It's very releasing and has left me in a good place.
My website and The 5 Minute Life Coach were born out of spending extended periods of time with God. Of late, I allowed myself to get too busy and those precious times with God were crowded out. Instead of fitting everything around time with God, I started fitting time with Him around my very busy schedule.
I've pulled in the reigns so that I can give God the focused attention He deserves.
There is no point building unless I build what God has called me to build and I can only be sure of getting the building right when I'm rooted and grounded in Him.
My life only works well when everything flows out of time with the Father. So, I've decided to only do what I sense the Lord prompting me to do. That means that I will only send my newsletter out when I feel I have something worth sending out to you.
For people who like more regular doses of encouragement, I will update the blog more frequently. You can either check to see if there are updates by visiting

Are You Productive or Just Too Busy?
There's a huge difference between a productive and fulfilling life and a busy life that leaves you no time to do the things you really want to do.
I hope you haven't fallen into the trap of thinking you need to be busy every moment of every day to be productive.
Do you want to know a secret?
People who are busy all the time end up feeing frazzled and wish they had more time. And they probably aren't as productive as someone who is focused and tries to complete only a few projects at a time.
How many things are you working on right now?
Are they related to your overall goals, or are you constantly coming across new things that catch your attention? Do you keep on adding more and more to your to-do list?
If your daily to-do list is way too long, you probably need to narrow your focus.
Take a look at your to-do list. Choose just one or two things to focus on that line up with your overall goals.
Focus only on those one or two activities and stick with them until they are done.
It feels so good when you actually complete things and you might find that some of the things you thought were important arenít as important as you thought they were.
The bonus is that you won't just have been busy; you will have been highly productive because you took the time to focus and saw something through to completion.
Something to think about
Galatians tells us that
ďI myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. So I live my life in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.Ē We are crucified with Christ and yet we live; no longer striving, but Christ living through us; using our eyes and ears and mouth and hands and feet and heart and mind; Christ living through us.
Are you familiar with this hymn?
Can I suggest that you talk to Jesus and offer yourself to Him?
Jesus, I give you my eyes. Where do you want me to look? Who needs to see your love in my eyes today?
Jesus, I give you my ears. What would you like me to listen to? Who needs a listening ear?
Jesus, I give you my mouth. What do you have for me to say? Who do you want me to speak to?
Jesus, I give you my feet. Where do you want me to go?
Jesus, I give you my hands. What would you like me to do? Who needs a hug?
Jesus, I give you my heart. Fill it with your compassion. Help me to love as you love.
When you do this and start following the Holy Spiritís promptings, youíll soon find yourself being a blessing everywhere you go and being blessed as you bless. Try it and see.
